Argument: Nap Time in School

Assertion/Claim: We need to have nap time in school

  • School should provide nap time each day
Evidence- Concrete Detail:
  • "Due to overwhelming amount of homework and school related activities, I often get less than five hours of sleep every night."

  • Commentary 1: When  students get up in the morning, there not all the way awake. In order for them to get fully awake they drink coffee and drink or eat a lot of sugar to help them stay awake. Sleepy students or any student should be able to sleep each day at school for 30 minutes.

  • Commentary 2: Taking naps helps students wake up and get full alert on what's going on around them at school. Naps should be something schools should really consider looking at.
The easiest way, and more healthful than cafefeine, to overcome tiredness during the day is to take naps. Not an hour nap but a quick 20 min. "power nap"
  • Commentary 1: Power naps helps students feel more awake and mentally alert on what is going on around them during school hours.

  • Commentary 2: Nap time might help boost test scores also. During study hall or anywhere, teachers should spare 30 mins each day.

Opposing Clamis/They Say
  • Some people think the time taken to sleep in school would take time out of learning.

My Rebuttal/I Say
  • Nevertheless, I say the time taken to sleep helps the brain revise whats been learned.

My Paragraph
"Due to overwhelming amount of homework and school related activities, I often get less than five hours of sleep every night." When  students get up in the morning, there not all the way awake. In order for them to get fully awake they drink coffee and drink or eat a lot of sugar to help them stay awake. Sleepy students or any student should be able to sleep each day at school for 30 minutes. Taking naps helos students wake up and get full alert on what's going on around them at school. Naps should be something schools should really consider looking at. The easiest way, and more healthful than cafefeine, to overcome tiredness during the day is to take naps. Not an hour nap but a quick 20 min. "power nap." Power naps helps students feel more awake and mentally alert on what is going on around them during school hours. Nap time might help boost test scores also. During study hall or anywhere, teachers should spare 30 mins each day. Some claim that taking naps really isn't worth wasting time over and that it takes away from learning. A quick 30 or even 20 minute nap can change a lot on that learning.

My Thinking:
This paragraph is deductive thinking based on the facts and the quotes that are given.
